At first I couldn’t speak. Then I was able only to speak in an indecipherable stutter. Minutes later, with both parents crouching beside me and with a measure of composure, I sobbed, “If I die in sin, I will go to hell.” With my father’s strong arms comforting me, he placed me on one knee and guided me in giving my life to Christ. “This is how you need to pray,” he said. Quietly my salvation prayer was whispered. I gave my life to Christ by confessing my sin and receiving His love, forgiveness, and cleansing for my sin. By His blood alone, the everlasting work was done. As Scripture assures, “. . . whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” ( Rom. 10:13 NKJV).
