“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say rejoice”. Phil.4:4.

Dear Mission Partner,

Praise the Lord! How blessed we all are to freely mingle and fellowship again! Each of us have been through this most unusual Covid experience. For me the first time in seven plus decades and for about eighteen months, not to attend church or preach to a live audience, was a shock to my system. This has also been the longest period in 36 years we have not been able to travel for overseas ministry, and still cannot as our ‘field’ countries still require quarantine.

One sentence says it all! Only ‘doom and gloom’ has the media fed the world for the past months; and the prognosis is not good. It is good for the believer in Jesus Christ.

Paul reminds us in Romans. In Jesus Christ we have “…Joy and peace in believing… abounding in hope…”

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye

may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Rom.15:13.”.

As Christ stilled the storm on Galilee with “Peace be still” Mk.4:39., so He stands ready to still whatever our storm may be when invited to. Regardless of the global ‘plague’ storm that is raging around believers today, our confidence is in Him, that, “…He (Himself) is our peace…” Eph.2:14. He Himself said “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you…” Jn.14:27. Our hope is in Him. Paul wants us to know, “…The hope of His calling…the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints”. And Jeremiah encourages us with the LORD promising, “…l know the plans I have for you…to give you a future and a hope”.

However, reflecting on this present turbulent period, there have been numbers of new insights and developments. In this time, God has been leading and stretching us to new ministry levels. Teaching us to be innovative, to reach new frontiers in various outreaches, He has developed us in new ways. On several counts this past eighteen months the ministry team have excelled in new and different ways.

On this ‘home front’ ministry is continuing, albeit on a limited basis. We are able to minister to, and counsel with those across Canada who are in contact with us. Via the various ‘social platforms’, Skype. Zoom &etc. we minister overseas from time to time. In this way we link with local interpreters in their location, who give simultaneous translation to the audience at their locations; sometimes fifty or more venues and several hundred people.

We continue to give leadership to our key workers overseas and are finding new ways to develop and fund special projects. With your continuing faithful monthly partnership, we have the resources to support pastors, young evangelists and leaders. These local leaders are now poised to break new ground in evangelism and church planting. From your faithful giving in the West, we have maintained funding for the second year for good numbers of Bible college students.

We need to share with you an event of the last few weeks. One of our senior ministry couples in Asia have shared their need for prayer. We have worked with and supported their ministry for many years. As a young adult we counselled with him, and he completed college and has built a substantial ministry. Recently he had a severe heart attack and next week will undergo quadruple heart surgery to improve on the present 20%. While awaiting surgery, last Sunday morning his wife passed away at age 57, with what is believed to be a heart attack. Please stand with us in prayer for the success of his up-coming surgery, and God’s continuing comforting grace as
he recovers.

The exceptional giving at last years GOF Banquet from half the normal limited attendance, was crowned by a special donation covering the total banquet expenses. That extra blessing, of covering the banquet expense, enabled us to honour all our ministry commitments and commit to additional projects overseas, despite the pandemic donation drop off.

The incredible weather of the past several months has caused a greater than usual shortfall in monthly ministry support. Please pray that this shortfall will be corrected quickly and not interfere with our current projects here and overseas.

2021 Global Outreach Banquet.

With present COVID-19 restrictions cleared, we can confirm (subject to later changes) this year’s Banquet will be held the first Friday after Thanksgiving, Fri. Oct 15th. Please commit to standing with us in support as part of the ministry team, reaching souls and changing lives forever with Christ – TOGETHER. We are expecting larger than usual attendance at the banquet this year. Please mark your planner.

Location – Garden Park Tower, Magnolia Room.

2825 Clearbrook Rd Abbotsford V2T 6S3.

Date and time – Fri. Oct. 15 – 6:30PM

Registration Begins Sept. 1st

To register for the Banquet please do either of the following:

PHONE 604 864 8468, or TEXT or PHONE 604 807 5678 to confirm the number coming. Please leave your name and phone number if you get a recording.

We would also encourage you to invite close friends or another mission minded couple to come with you to be part of the mission team.

While the primary purpose of the banquet is to support evangelism, discipleship and church planting around the world; a secondary purpose is to share with you who faithfully stand with us, the work of, and power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit in signs and wonders. This was the mandate that God commissioned us to ‘GO’ overseas with, and thirty-six years later that is still Shirley’s and my mandate.

The banquet evening allows us opportunity to enjoy Holy Spirit anointed ministry with Marcus and Cathy Unger. Then the Holy Spirit’s presence will touch all who reach out to Him in worship and for needs to be met. Prepare your spirit and come expecting great things from His hand. Opportunity for prayer is always available,

While we remain grounded in Canada, Shirley and I are available for personal ministry to you. Please feel free to call 604 807 5678. We are here for you.

Shirley and I look forward to having fellowship with you at this year’s Banquet.

You are loved. We are your servants for Jesus’ sake.
